Statement

I'm am Heidi Jacobs, I studied at clarion university with a major in art and a focus in sculpture. I fell in love with making functional wares 5 years ago after the birth of my son. I love how working in clay checks all of the boxes for me. I can sculpt, throw, play with graphic design to stamp elements into my pieces, experiment with chemistry to get different glaze finishes, and I get to use my work rather than just stare at it. My biggest inspiration comes from nature and in my fine art works I love to incorporate sculpted animals. My more commercial pieces are standard sized mugs and Homegoods with slight embellishments and simple glaze techniques.
